Cross Point Village

As you have just seen in the video, my name is Steve Boots, and I pastor Mt. Victory Baptist Church in Henrico, VA. For several years, the Lord has allowed me to partner with Independent Baptist Church of Belize City, a work that began in 2012 and continues to flourish today under the leadership of Pastor Rigo Blanco, a Belizean man who was saved in the early days of that ministry.

Belize is a small country of just over 400,000 people, with a growing number claiming no religion at all. That spiritual openness has created a unique window of opportunity. While we know not every person will come to Christ, we dobelieve it is possible for the gospel to reach every corner of Belize.

To that end, God has opened the door to a unique piece of property that we are developing into a missions hub called Cross Point Village. This 30+ acre property is just 15 minutes from the international airport, 20 minutes from Independent Baptist Church of Belize City, and within a few hours of all the major tourist areas and borders of the country. It is truly a “cross point” from which gospel outreach can extend throughout the entire nation.

The goal is to provide a place for missions teams from churches, as well as to provide a place for medical groups and others to come help the Belizean people. Cross Point Village will also provide a good number of jobs to the people who will be carrying out the day to day work. Here’s what Cross Point Village will include:

·      Housing for mission and medical teams: Four buildings with six housing units each, allowing us to host church and medical groups at the lowest possible cost so more churches can bring teams to Belize.

·      Commercial kitchen & dining hall: Open to the public to help generate income, while serving mission teams affordably during their stay.

·      Coffee and gift shop: Available to both locals and guests, creating community connections and additional income.

·      Training and internship base: A place for Christian colleges to send missions students for hands-on internships in an English-speaking country where they can evangelize, disciple, and serve daily.

·      Teen and missions camps: Camps for Belizean youth and missions-focused camps for young people from the U.S., exposing them to the mission field and, Lord willing, calling future laborers into God’s harvest.

·      Tourism base and rentals: Tour packages and vacation rentals (some privately owned, some owned by the nonprofit) will help make the ministry self-sustaining and, in time, fund new church plants and national pastors across Belize.

Cross Point Village is now under a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with a board of directors, a clear mission statement, and a thoughtful financial plan. Our long-term vision is not only to sustain this hub, but to help fund additional churches and national pastors throughout Belize for years to come.

This place will be more than four walls and a roof—it’s going to serve as a training ground for local pastors, host youth camps that inspire faith in young hearts, facilitate church missions trips bringing hope where there is despair, and act as an international hub from which we can train future missionaries. It's about reaching out with the love of Jesus Christ right here on this little corner of Belize City!

The need right now is to get funding that will allow us to begin the purchase of the property as well as make the needed repairs and updates to the buildings to make them functional for groups. We are in the process of trying to get this project off the ground.
